InfraRecorder – opensource CD/DVD burning software for Windows

Added InfraRecorder to the TTCS OSSWIN CD which will be released later today, bandwidth permitting.

InfraRecorder is a free CD/DVD burning solution for Microsoft Windows. It offers a wide range of powerful features; all through an easy to use application interface and Windows Explorer integration. InfraRecorder has a task oriented menu similiar to that of Nero Express :

InfraRecorder Express menu - task oriented menu

Selecting a task (for example, a data CD) brings you to a interface that many CD/DVD burning users will find easy to use :

  • An Explorer view which allows you to browse your computer and select files to add to the CD.
  • A Disc Layout view which shows what data is to be included on the CD.
  • Underneath the Disc Layout view is a “space meter” which shows the space taken up by your disc layout.

InfraRecorder GUI for creating a data CD

So its very easy to use and I’ve plan to use it to create the TTCS OSSWIN CD ISO and for burning copies for meetings. InfraRecorder is available for Windows 95/98/Me and 2000/XP/Vista.

  1. I use this program for all my CD burning jobs. It is very efficient, uses a low bit of memory, and the gui icons match my icon set, Tango. I love this program. May I never use Nero again!
